About Katie
Katie embarked on her professional journey in Mental Health Counseling after dedicating nearly a decade to emergency medicine and military service. Her early clinical experience involved participation in research programs focused on providing support to teens at risk of suicidality and self-injury. Transitioning to private practice, Katie expanded her expertise in addressing general mood and behavioral concerns, as well as introducing a specialization in maternal mental health/fertility challenges.
Katie's ongoing clinical focus revolves around providing compassionate care for individuals navigating anxiety and she excels in creating a supportive space for those who have undergone traumatic events. She takes great pride in establishing a safe and inclusive environment that embraces diversity, including but not limited to the LGBTQ+ community, alternative family structures, and veterans/first responders.
Central to Katie's therapeutic approach is a belief in the power of a healthy strivings perspective. She contends that every thought, behavior and emotion, even those that appear exceptionally challenging, can be traced back to fundamental desires for belonging, understanding, connection, and safety.
In her practice, Katie's blend of experience, compassion, and dedication fosters a warm and professional environment, allowing individuals to navigate their mental health journey with support and understanding.
